
A daylong orientation programme for staff of the project of ‘MDG Unions: Building Participatory Democracy From the Bottom Up in Rural Bangladesh’ was held in Democracy International, Amirabad, Mymonsingh on 25th May 2013. The objective of the orientation was to familiarize the staff with the project goals and objectives, expected output, outcomes, results and intervention framework. The MDG Unions project, with the financial support by UNDEF, is being implemented by The Hunger Project Bangladesh in partnership with BRAC.The orientation started with an open discussion on THP:Vision, Mission, Values, Work Approach and Activities facilitated by Nasima Akther Joly, Deputy Director (Programme). Joyanta Kar, RC, Mymonsingh, Nazmul Hasssan, APO and some Union Coordinators took part in this discussion.
Jamirul Islam, Programme Manager, THP made a presentation on project background, goal and objectives, result and interventions framework. He also briefed the project staff about their duties, roles and responsibilities and detail work plan for the project.
Joyanta Kar, Regional Coordinator, Mymonsingh facilitated the whole session.
A total of 18 participants including two district managers form BRAC, who are accountable for the project from BRAC side, took part in the orientation program.
